How does Parentline collect and use your information?

Parentline will only collect your personal or sensitive information by fair, lawful and non-intrusive means and use information collected and recorded for the provision of Parentline services. Generally we will only collect this information if you provide it to us.

All information held is retained and destroyed in accordance with applicable laws.

Online Privacy

    A cookie is a small file stored on your computer which contains information about your preferences when you visit a website. Amongst other uses, cookies enable websites to be customised for individual users and allow for easier browsing. Parentline only uses cookies for these purposes. Our cookies do not contain any personal or identifying information. You can easily disable cookies in your web browser if you want to.

    We will collect your email address if you provide it to us. This is in order to provide a counselling service to you and to communicate with you and will not be used for any other purpose without your express consent.
  • IP addresses
    Each time you visit our site we collect and store the IP address of the internet connection you are using. This number is assigned by your Internet Service Provider. We collect this information anonymously for statistical purposes.

Will Parentline share your information with others?

Parentline will NOT, without your prior approval:

  • Use your personal or sensitive information for fundraising, advertising or the promotion of Parentline; or
  • Disclose information or distribute personal or sensitive information about you unless the information must be released because of a law, or to prevent harm to you or others.

Reasonable steps will be taken to protect information about you from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, changes or disclosure.

How does Parentline ensure information is up-to-date?

You are responsible for informing Parentline of any changes to your personal details or circumstances. Parentline will take reasonable steps to ensure information collected is accurate, complete and up-to-date by undertaking regular audits.
